Advocacy
Maryland Right to Life makes it easy for Marylanders to stay informed and become actively involved in the state legislative session each year. From mid-January through April, we mobilize concerned citizens to contact their elected representatives and provide written and/or oral testimony before the Maryland General Assembly.
There are several ways YOU can help shape public policy in the state of Maryland.
1. Take Action Now
The MARYLAND RIGHT TO LIFE ACTION CENTER provides pro-life action alerts about the most critical legislation.
CLICK HERE to act now by sending automated letters to legislators. It’s quick and easy – just enter your name and address to let your voice be heard. Please share this resource with your pro-life family, friends and church community.

2. Contact Your Legislators
Your state and federal elected officials need to hear from you. Office visits, phone calls, written letters, emails, social media posts, letters to the editor, and showing up at lobby days are all effective means of urging your elected representatives to support or oppose specific pieces of legislation.

3. Submit Your Testimony
Do you have a compelling pro-life story to share? We are always looking for people to submit written and/or verbal testimony in support of pro-life legislation (or in opposition to anti-life legislation).
Testimony is used during sessions of Maryland’s General Assembly. Both written and oral testimonies come from a variety of people: doctors, nurses, legal experts, social workers, and expert witnesses; like the regular citizen with a notable personal experience relating to the bill topic.
Some of the most pressing topics include assisted suicide, parental rights and involvement, conscience protections and freedom of speech, late abortions, abortion coercion, taxpayer funding of abortion, abortion drugs, adoption and foster care reform, pregnancy help centers, abortion data reporting requirements, and protecting born-alive abortion survivors.
If you’d like to submit written testimony for Maryland’s General Assembly, you can submit it here.
More instructions on how to submit your testimony can be found here.
Thank you for sharing your story and being a voice for the voiceless!
